Splitting a Stone
One of the first things we learned was how to divide a stone using plugs and feathers. This technique of splitting a stone is very traditional and simple. You first use a drill and speed square to drill holes straight down the stone. then you put in the plugs and feathers and gently tap them down going along the line. Eventually the stone will split almost perfectly along the line.
